According to Cancer Research UK, '…experts estimate that more than four in ten cancer cases could be prevented by lifestyle changes…', lifestyle changes such as not smoking, maintaining a healthy body weight, eating a balanced diet, keeping active and cutting back on alcohol will all make a positive difference.
Much the same advice applies to heart disease prevention. Of course there are health risks we cannot influence, for example genetic factors, but we can still elect to make sensible, evidence-based choices to protect and enhance health and wellbeing. Weigh up the pros and cons; it’s a no-brainer.
