Put the kettle on

Last Updated: 17 January 2019

Put the kettle on

Drinking tea is not just about the drink itself - it’s a ritual, a social pastime, and the source of many discussions on how to brew the perfect cuppa!

The good news is that more and more evidence is showing that tea can significantly boost your health. Green tea in particular has had favourable findings, with studies showing green tea extracts may help to protect the heart, boost metabolism (so potentially helping with weight loss), as well as supporting skin, bone and dental health. There’s also new evidence to suggest that green tea extracts could help to boost healthy gut bacteria.

But it’s not just the green stuff that’s worth glugging down - the regular ‘builder’s brew’ or black tea also contains antioxidants that may help to prevent cancer, boost bone health, improve oral health AND boost mental performance. Just one thing to note is that milk in tea may dampen some of these miracle benefits so it’s worth having yours black (and holding the sugar!).
