The health benefits of this stoned fruit have received more attention of late, with cherries being hailed as the latest superfood. But it’s not the super-sweet variety that are in focus – tart cherries appear to have the most benefits.
Studies have linked this sour variety to better sleep, weight loss, reduced inflammation and decreases in gout and rheumatoid arthritic pain. As they’re not too pleasant to eat, tart cherries can be taken in powder, juice or in capsule form.
